Course Overview
A Fire Safety Advisor is a qualified professional responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring fire safety management plans and emergency procedures to comply with the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008. They are mandatory for specific high-occupancy, high-rise, or high-risk buildings, and are required to have training in workplace emergency response and 3-yearly re-certification.
This course gives you all the skills and knowledge needed to take on the FSA role in your organisation or building. You will work through eight units of competency covering emergency planning, fire safety systems, evacuation procedures, and ongoing compliance responsibilities.
This course is suited to building managers, facility managers, WHS officers, and anyone appointed or seeking appointment as a Fire Safety Advisor under the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 in Queensland. It is particularly relevant for people working in high-occupancy, high-rise, or high-risk buildings where an FSA is legally required.
Re-certification: Fire Safety Advisors in Queensland are required to complete re-certification every 3 years to maintain their accreditation under the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008. Contact Health Security Education to find out about re-certification options.
