Course Overview
This unit is for workers in operational and supervisory roles involved in civil construction and excavation work. It develops the knowledge and practical skills required to safely identify, locate and protect underground services including gas, water, electrical and telecommunications infrastructure prior to commencing any site works. Participants learn to apply Australian standards, use Dial Before You Dig processes and operate electromagnetic locating equipment. Work is performed under supervision and in accordance with relevant WHS legislation and industry codes of practice. This unit supersedes RIICCM202D – Identify, Locate and Protect Underground Services.
