Fire Operations

Learn the skills and responsibilities required to act as a Chief Fire Warden in your workplace or facility. This course covers operating within and leading an Emergency Control Organisation, and confining small emergencies, giving you the full range of knowledge needed to coordinate emergency response and keep occupants safe.

Course Overview

This course gives you the skills to take on the Chief Fire Warden role within a structured Emergency Control Organisation. You will learn ECO roles and responsibilities, communication methods, evacuation procedures, area checking, assisting occupants, and reporting requirements in line with workplace emergency plans.

This course also covers leading an Emergency Control Organisation, including how to coordinate ECO members, manage communications during an emergency, oversee evacuation activities, liaise with emergency services, and ensure the ECO operates effectively under pressure.

Finally, you will learn how to confine small emergencies in a facility, including how to assess hazards, apply controls, follow emergency procedures, use basic first response equipment where appropriate, and communicate and report actions taken. Training focuses on safe limitations, escalation triggers, and maintaining personal safety.
