Pre-requisites:   Nil.
Course Outline:    In many working environments people are exposed to a variety of situation that may call for the need to have a rescue performed.
in the combined rescue course, participants will gain an understanding of how to:

  • Conduct equipment checks and suitability of equipment and determine need and ability prior to use;
  • operate rescue equipment in emergency situations from heights; and
  • perform post recovery/rescue maintenance and cleaning / refurbishment of equipment.
  • The practical exercises will give participants experience and skills in:


  • Performing a Emergency Descent from a EWP and correctly demonstrate the process;
  • Conduct a Rescue from a Pole of a casualty that may have experienced electrocution;
  • Conduct a Rescue from a tower of a casualty that has fallen and lower to the ground for further medical attention;
  • Conduct Pick off rescue; and
  • Complete documentation/permits/rescue plans.
  • Assessment:    Assessment for the Rescue training Course comprises of both written and practical assessment.  Attendees will complete a set of exercises to demonstrate their understanding of the theory and practical components of this competency.
    Certification:    Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (RTO #40907).
