Working at Heights

Course cost:    $350.00  (GST exempt)
Pre-requisites:    Nil.
Course Outline:    Working at Heights is recognised as one of the most hazardous situations in the workplace.During Health Security Education’s Working at Heights course, participants will develop key skills that will enable them to:

  • identify work requirements;
  • identify work procedures and instructions for the task;
  • access and install equipment;
  • perform work at heights; and
  • clean up work area.

The practical exercises will give participants experience and skills to safely:

  • inspect equipment;
  • don a harness;
  • climb ladders;
  • ascend and descend a single rope; and
  • employ self rescue techniques.

Work Safely at Heights will provide all competent persons with the skills and knowledge to:

  • plan and prepare to work safely at heights;
  • work safely at heights including knowledge of safety equipment;
  • access, install and use safety equipment;
  • utilise the Gotcha KitTM to attach, raise and lower a casualty who is suspended by a fall arrest lanyard; and
  • maintain a safe work area.
Assessment:     Our Working at Heights course comprises of both written and practical assessment.  Attendees will complete a set of exercises to demonstrate their understanding of the theory and practical components of this competency.
Certification:     Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (RTO #40907).
